Surviving veterans of  The 107th Transportation Truck Company dedicated their monument that is located at the Haleyville City Hall on Saturday, August 30, at 2:00 p.m.  M. L. Weaver spoke to the group assembled at city hall and explained the reasons for erecting the monument for the 119 members who were originally from the Haleyville area.  Some local merchants as well as the veterans, widows and children of the veterans paid for the monument.  Norman McCrory, one of the veterans, was the driving force behind obtaining the monument.
